The Nelson Jazz Fest is on so we hit the Friday evening outdoor show with “The Wellington Shake em on Downers” playing great swing music. There are a number of dancers that do East Coast swing and we are all up on the grass strutting our stuff. Ru has perfected the Haki War Dance and adapts it to the swing tempo. The next day we spend the morning at Tahunanui Beach swimming and flying a Christmas kite, and then head off to the oldest pub still in operation in NZ in Upper Moutere to listen to another group play Jango Reinhardt music. A lot of the same crowd from last night is there. The pub serves brew from 31 vineyards all within a 10 km radius. They have excellent ginger beer on tap. We say goodbye to Morgan and Charlie who fly back to Auckland, and later in the evening to Amme. Tomorrow we head off on the last days of our adventure in NZ.
